Psychometric Tests

George Combe Psychometric Test Collection

The Psychology Department has the following tests which may be used only by Psychology staff and students for testing purposes.

They are available to be borrowed from Karen Fleet in the Psychology & Philosophy Library which is staffed 9-5 on weekdays during term-time.

For more detailed information on which test is appropriate for your study please consult your supervisor or demonstrator. As well as looking at the list of tests held by the department you can do a keyword search on databases such as the Web of Knowledge. There are a number of web sites which give information on psychometric tests such as the APA website.

Also see International Personality Item pool for public domain personality tests. Some tests are commonly available on the web.

Tests fall into two categories: those which are made freely available by researchers and commercial tests. Public domain tests can usually be found by consulting the relevant article or book chapter on them. Commercial tests are NOT to be photocopied and if you wish to use these tests, you must consult with your supervisor on the availability of funds to use a specific test. Often a literature search will produce a public domain equivalent of a commercial test.
